Ladysmith Black Mambazo is a male choral group from South Africa that sings in the vocal styles of
isicathamiya and mbube. They rose to worldwide prominence as a result of singing with Paul Simon
on his album, Graceland and have won multiple awards, including three Grammy Awards. They were
formed by Joseph Shabalala in 1960 and later became one of South Africa's most prolific recording
artists, with their releases receiving gold and platinum disc honors.[1] The group has now become
a mobile academy, teaching people about South Africa and its culture. (wikipedia)
I love Ladysmith Black Mambazo and I have watched them perform several times in the states.  It was
with great excitement that I learnt that they now have a new CD out.  Super Excited.  This CD is
called Lady Smith Black Mambazo and Friends which features a collaborative effort with different
Diasporan musicians.  Most importantly, it is on sale - today only on Amazon.
You can get this CD for less than 4 dollars.

Who should get this CD?  Those who love choral, South African Vocal styles, African music and most importantly, fans of this choral group.  The songs on this CD are very familiar but slightly different because of the energies brought about by these Diasporan artists.

Take a listen to:

1) Shosholoza

2) World In Union with PJ Powers

3) Diamonds On The Sole of Her Feets  with Melissa Etheridge and Joe Mcbride
