Fresh Vibes Monday
Phrench Vanilla, born, Kudakwashe Chanakira, is a hip hop-dancehall recording and performing artist from Zimbabwe, currently residing in North Carolina. Phrench Vanilla, has a very unique sound, comprising of a gruff somewhat deep voice, with a catchy flow, and style, with infectious beats, that make him stand out amongst hip hop and dancehall artists alike. He has been writing, since the age of ten, and started recording in 2004, under the mentor-ship, and supervision of his cousin Maynard (who is also one of his producers) and Foz from Raleigh based Crusha Designs Studio. It wasn't until 2007, that Phrench's career took of, after he was introduced to Christopher 'Play' Martin, from the legendary rap duo Kid-n-Play, who directed the video for a positively charged song titled 'Get Yourz'. Since then, Phrench has been performing at various events, everywhere from Dallas, Texas, to Raleigh North Carolina, and has appeared on tracks with artists such as Dubbie Benzie, Scarzz The EmCee, and JoJo Mac, to name a few. Phrench just finished up work on his 'debut' album 'here and There' which he promises will cater to all music palates, and introduce the world to this young, gifted, and charismatic artist. On a personal note, Phrench also has a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems and proclaims that he is a 'geek, who is very proud of it too!' We will have Phrench on visionsfm on January 20th. Look out for more information here. So what do you think - hit or miss?
