Give thanks to God for he is good and his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

Thanksgiving  day is a celebrated American Holiday where many people gather with their families and friends to remind themselves of the things that they should be thankful for.  We, really should call it the day of remembrance.

On that day, many sit down, eat, joke and play with people they consider their family.  It is really a big deal in the states but then many have accused Americans of making a big deal out of everything.  But,  you have to remember that the typical American is a workaholic and anytime he/she gets off to spend with family and friends is a big deal. 

But, the other day, it really hit hard - we really should give thanks everyday even for the simplest of things.   There is so much to be thankful for - the fact that we are alive, that we have access to so many opportunities, that we can do so much  etc.  There is so much that we do with ease that we take for granted and the list goes on. 

Personally, having a spirit of thanks in all things, releases so much within us.  It gives us the ability to notice the little wonders around us and it releases an alternative way of viewing life, situations and opportunities.  It is interesting to note that some of the most creative people are able to see life through different set of lenses and often times, it is from the place of thanks.

We really should all learn to be thankful everyday for God's blessings and not only on Thanksgiving day.  On that note, have a wonderful Thanksgiving day.  Enjoy the turkey.
